Louise Greene Counsellor & Psychotherapist
I offer a highly experienced and professional counselling and psychotherapy service that will help you to explore and understand your issues in order to improve your life.
Throughout therapy I shall offer you support and insight to help you gain a new perspective on your life. My aim is to help you to discover new ways of thinking in order to increase your confidence and enable you to find your own way forward.
As we are all unique, I will adapt my approach according to your specific needs by integrating different aspects of the following therapeutic models:
Person-centred therapy enables you to develop self-awareness and trust in yourself, reconnecting you with your own values and sense of self-worth.
Through exploration of your feelings, behaviours and beliefs, I can help you to recognise blocks to growth and experience aspects of yourself that were previously denied or distorted. By reconnecting with your inner resources, you will feel more able to effect changes in your life and reach your full potential.
Existential therapy can help you to gain a clearer understanding of your worldview and what it means to be human. There are various aspects of human existence that are often the source of many difficulties in our lives, such as freedom of choice, responsibility, anxiety, meaninglessness, uncertainty, isolation, and above all death. By addressing these issues, I can help you to live more authentically and purposefully whilst also accepting the limitations and contradictions of being human.
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on helping to make unconscious processes conscious. This increases your self-awareness and understanding of how early relationships and past experiences influence you in the present.
I use the therapeutic relationship to unlock unconscious relationship patterns that you have developed since childhood and work with the transference and countertransference dynamics.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help you to break patterns of negative thinking and behaviour in order to live a healthier and happier life. CBT helps you to identify and address your problems and understand how your thoughts and actions affect the way that you feel.
If your relationship is going through a difficult time, I can help you to get to the bottom of your issues and communicate with each other in a constructive way. Seeking counselling often means the difference between staying together and splitting up.
